Do you think married couples should go to jail if they cheat?

No, that would just place a huge burden on the tax payers.

Maybe something more along the lines of an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth...Do you think married couples should go to jail if they cheat?
me either and i hate admitting this.... i might enjoy a public display of humiliation for the cheaters

Do you think married couples should go to jail if they cheat?
I think that the one who cheats should go to jail but like the other person said there ant enough room or jail cell to hold them
There are many reasons why individual spouses may seek the companionship of others. Though I personally do not condone extra-marital affairs, I do not stand in judgment of them. I feel that the choice of divorce is adequate.

At any rate...to add cheaters to our national debt of supplying housing (prisons) and food would leave less benefits for other legitimate causes.
Adultery is a sin with dire consequences.
Reverse cuckolding?
There are some states that have laws against adultery, but the only problem is, there needs to be evidence about it, and I think that states would think that it would be a waste of jail space to put cheaters in jail.
we would have to build alot of jails because it seems like cheating is like breathing these days everyone does it.... i think that they do need to crack down some way to try to put a stop to infedelity but that is going to be hard.....
No, that's ridiculous.
Well, thats a little dramatic....should people who stay with cheaters be fined??
no, unless you are talking about a moral jail, but wait we have different morals.
Yes, I think so but the space will be a big problem.
LOL that sounds kinda extreme don't ya think? maybe some kind of fine or something else, there are real criminals that neede to be locked up our jails are too crowded..cheers
No, first of all they don't all get caught, even when you know they cheated it's hard to prove. Secondly there are usually kids involved and putting the parent in jail doesn't help anyone, a jailed parent can't support their child, and, a person can be a bad spouse but a good parent. Thirdly, being faithful is only one of the marriage vows. If we were going to put people in jail for cheating should we also put them in jail for failing to love, honor and cherish, love in sickness, etc?
There's not enough room for that many people.
I dont' think so, but a fine would do better. That way for example paying 10th% of your money to the other party... because you accepted tnot to do that when she married you, so that would cover some gifts you want to make to yourself.lol Also do you think someone who cheats deserves to be near an assasin, a raper, a stalker, etc...??
I like the way you think ;)
THERE are not ENOUGH JAILS !
Who's going to build all the jails?
This should be a civil case with monetary compensation involved.

However anyone may feel marriage is a verbal contract in the presence of an arm of the state.

Wonder if anyone has tried to enforce this contract.
no
