How much do average married couples save per year.?

according to the latest poll they are in the red when it comess to savings so if you have saved a dollar you are above average!!!How much do average married couples save per year.?
If you're going strictly by averages, then the answer is 0 because the savings rate is negative right now. That means as a whole, U.S. residents are spending more than they earn. They make up the difference with credit, which does not bode well for the future.

At a minimum, couples or individuals should save 10% of their take-home pay. Ideally, they should save even more.

The average U.S. household has less than $10,000 in assets, when you exclude home equity from the calculation.
